In Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, a double-decker bus accident resulted in two deaths and 16 injuries. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured.

In the Toli village under the Sikandara Rao police station limits in Hathras, a double-decker bus rammed into a truck parked on the roadside due to the negligence of the bus driver. Ashish Kumar, District Magistrate of Hathras, confirmed the incident. Hathras Superintendent of Police Nipun Aggarwal and other police officials rushed to the spot for rescue operations, and the injured were admitted to a hospital.

Meanwhile, CM Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives and directed officials to accelerate the rescue task for the injured.

Earlier, in Unnao district, a double-decker bus collided with a milk van, claiming 18 lives and injuring 19. The tragic incident occurred at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday when a bus traveling from Motihari, Bihar to Delhi hit a milk tanker on the Agra-Lucknow expressway near Gadha village in the Behta Munjawar Police Station area. Six of the injured were referred to Lucknow, while the rest were taken to the District Hospital in Unnao. Twenty people managed to escape unhurt.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs two lakhs for the kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. Several leaders across party lines condoled the deaths and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
