Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Launches ‘Griha Arogya: Healthcare at Your Doorstep’

On Thursday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the ‘Griha Arogya: Healthcare at Your Doorstep’ initiative in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This program, organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, aims to provide free health check-ups and treatment to citizens at their homes, focusing on underprivileged sections to ensure timely disease detection.

Sharing his personal experience, Siddaramaiah mentioned managing diabetes for 30 years through regular exercise and a disciplined lifestyle. He emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and noted that many people, especially from economically weaker sections, cannot afford hospital visits. This initiative aims to bring health services directly to their homes.

Siddaramaiah highlighted that early detection of conditions like cancer improves treatment outcomes, while diseases such as diabetes and hypertension can be managed with lifestyle changes. He also addressed misconceptions about diet and diabetes, stating that balanced nutrition is essential and eliminating certain foods is not the solution.

Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Chief Whip Ashok Pattan, MLC Sudham Das, the Chief Minister’s political secretary Naseer Ahmed, and Principal Secretary of Health Harsha Gupta were present at the launch.
