On October 6, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended a program at Govardhan Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Dharampur, organized by Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan. He announced a financial aid of Rs 60 lakh for the college. During the event, he honored students who excelled in the Uttarakhand Board Examination 2024.

The Chief Minister praised the efforts of Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan in providing quality education and instilling Indian values in students. Vidya Bharati schools focus on creating well-rounded citizens by teaching patriotism, social harmony, and environmental protection.

Educational Initiatives in Uttarakhand

Vidya Bharati operates over 500 schools in Uttarakhand, educating more than 1 lakh students. The government has selected seven Vidya Bharati schools to become Sainik Schools. The state has implemented the National Education Policy-2020, modernizing the education system with smart classes and free resources for students.

Support for Meritorious Students

The Mukhyamantri Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Yojana provides scholarships to top students, and bicycles are given to girls entering class 9. The government also plans educational tours for top students and is enhancing infrastructure in higher education with 20 new model colleges.

International Opportunities and IT Training

An agreement for the Chevening Uttarakhand Scholarship allows five students to study in Britain annually. Springboard Infosys offers free IT training for teachers and students. The state budget allocates over 1700 crores for youth welfare and education, including a new Center for Hindu Studies at Doon University.
