Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived at the Ghutthu-Panja-Devling area in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, to inspect ongoing relief and rescue operations after heavy rains caused significant damage.

Meeting with Affected Families

CM Dhami met with the disaster-affected family of Durga Devi in Malethi and assured them of all possible help. He noted the extensive damage caused by heavy cloudbursts, which affected several houses and livestock.

Immediate Assistance and Reconstruction

Dhami directed the District Administration to provide immediate assistance, assess the damage, and start reconstruction work. He emphasized that lack of funds would not hinder these efforts.

Damage Assessment

District Magistrate Mayur Dixit reported that 29 buildings were damaged in the Ghutthu area, with six completely destroyed and 23 partially damaged. Compensation exceeding 10 lakhs has been given to nine damaged houses. Twenty families from partially damaged buildings are in relief camps.

Additional Damages

Seventeen animals were lost, and 24 drinking water lines were damaged. Other assets like electrical lines, roads, and culverts also suffered severe damage. The agricultural damage of 450 families has been assessed, and road connectivity to several villages is being restored.

Villages Affected

Many villages, including Malethi, Chandla, Gavana Malla, Gavana Talla, Kailbagi, Devlang, Jogiana, Gangeri, Chakragaon, Maletha, Ranidhang, Panja, Mendu Sindhwal, Sankri, Lom, Samangaon, Miswali, Bhatgaon, Ankwan village, Raitgaon, and Bhelunta, have suffered extensive damages.
