Dhami stated, “On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, I pay tribute to the millions of families who endured the pain of Partition and faced countless hardships. On this day in 1947, our country was divided based on religion. This venom of discrimination and hatred led to the displacement of millions of brothers and sisters and the loss of thousands of lives.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also hoisted the Tricolour at his residence in the national capital as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. In the 112th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on July 28, Prime Minister Modi called on all Indians to actively participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to celebrate Independence Day.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is an initiative under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, launched in 2021 to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it in celebration of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
