Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami Inspects Damage from Cloudburst in Tehri Garhwal
Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami conducted an aerial and field inspection of the damage caused by a cloudburst and heavy rains in Ghutu, Panjya, and Devling areas of Ghansali tehsil in Tehri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand.
Speaking to reporters, Dhami said, “A lot of damage has occurred due to the cloudburst and heavy rains. I have instructed the District Administration to assess all villages where the incidents took place and directions have been provided to help all the people who have been affected by the calamity.”
Dhami emphasized the importance of alerting residents about future natural calamities beforehand. He assured that rehabilitation work would be undertaken immediately and that the government would compensate for the damages caused.
During his visit to the affected areas, Dhami met with the residents and assured them of all possible help. He instructed officials to take the affected people to safe places and make proper arrangements for their food and accommodation. Additionally, he directed officials to speed up the reconstruction work by submitting assessment reports of the affected areas.
Earlier, Dhami spoke about the relief work being done by the government and administration to mitigate the damage in the Ghansali area of Tehri district. He noted that the cloudburst had caused significant damage, including the death of cattle, destruction of buildings, and damage to roads and other properties.
