Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Releases White Paper on Polavaram Project

Amravati, Andhra Pradesh

On June 28, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu presented a white paper on the Polavaram project in the assembly. He emphasized that Polavaram is a central government project and criticized the YSRCP for calling for reverse tendering and causing damage to the project.

Naidu explained that the cofferdam and diaphragm walls were damaged, and no compensations were paid to the victims. He announced that international experts from the USA would review the project in early July.

He highlighted that 72% of the project was completed during the TDP regime, while less than 4% was done under the YSRCP. Naidu accused the current government of obstructing the project without reviewing prior reports.

Earlier, Naidu, along with Nara Lokesh and Nandamuri Balakrishna, took oaths as members of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Naidu had vowed to return to the Assembly only after becoming Chief Minister, which he did on June 12. The TDP-BJP-Janasena Party alliance won a landslide victory in the recent elections.
