Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu chaired his first cabinet meeting at the Secretariat after assuming charge. The Naidu-led alliance government includes TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena parties.

  • Continuing the volunteer system
  • Implementing ‘Super Six’ guarantees
  • Providing Rs 80,000 annual financial assistance to farmers
  • Offering Rs 3,000 as potential unemployment benefits
  • Monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500 for women
  • Free bus travel and three free gas cylinders for women

Other Discussions

The construction of the Amaravati and Polavaram projects was also discussed.

New Appointments

Earlier, TDP leader Nara Lokesh assumed charge as the Minister of Human Resources, IT, Electronics, and Real-Time Governance at the Secretariat in Vijayawada.

Legislative Assembly

The sixteenth Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly commenced on Friday. Chief Minister Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and Nandamuri Balakrishna took oath as members. Naidu, who vowed to return to the Assembly only as Chief Minister, received a standing ovation as he arrived in the House for the fourth time as Chief Minister. TDP MLA G Butchaiah Chowdary presided over the proceedings as the Proterm Speaker.

Election Victory

The TDP-BJP-Janasena alliance won a landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. TDP has 135 MLAs, Janasena 21, and BJP 8. The opposition YSR Congress Party has 11 MLAs.
