Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Highlights MSME Growth at Vadodara Convention
Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], September 29: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel spoke at the regional convention organized by Laghu Udyog Bharati in Vadodara, emphasizing the importance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Gujarat’s development. He stated that MSMEs are the backbone of Gujarat and a model for the country’s growth. The government is working to provide a global platform for MSMEs, enabling them to compete internationally.
Patel highlighted the significant transformation in the manufacturing sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, which has created new opportunities across various sectors. The Prime Minister’s initiatives, such as ‘Unnat and Viksit Bharat,’ have fostered national development in agriculture, services, and industry.
Laghu Udyog Bharati, an organization focused on the interests of Indian industry and national welfare, was praised for its efforts towards Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and the Make in India initiative. The Chief Minister noted that these programs have reduced imports and boosted exports, making India a powerhouse of manufacturing and innovation.
India has become the second-largest mobile manufacturer globally and has made significant strides in space, semiconductors, electronics, and electric vehicles. The state government acts as a facilitator between organizations and industries, promoting cluster-based development and the ‘One District, One Product’ policy.
Patel emphasized the importance of connecting new technology with small and medium industries to enhance productivity. He expressed confidence that Laghu Udyog Bharati’s efforts would benefit small industries significantly. The Prime Minister’s goal of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ aims to capture the global market with eco-friendly and quality production practices.
Gujarat has become a preferred destination for capital investment due to its strong infrastructure, progressive policies, and commitment to ease of doing business. The MSME sector in Gujarat is flourishing, supported by sector-based policies, skilled manpower, and a solid legal framework.
Patel highlighted the Union Budget’s focus on generating employment by strengthening the MSME sector, with a budget of Rs 48 lakh crore announced this year. He encouraged MSMEs to leverage government policies and assured them of the government’s support in addressing challenges.
Ghanshyam Ojha, National President of Laghu Udyog Bharati, noted that MSMEs contribute 35% to the country’s GDP. The organization, which began in 1994 with 50 entrepreneurs, now connects over 55,000 entrepreneurs across 490 districts. Baldev Prajapati, in charge of Laghu Udyog Bharati for Gujarat and Rajasthan, emphasized the organization’s collaborative approach to development.
Laghu Udyog Bharati empowers women entrepreneurs through ‘Swayam Siddha’ exhibition fairs and supports small industry organizations through the Svavalambi Abhiyan. The Government of India is also contributing to water audits and technology exchange through agreements with the CSIR institution.
Sandeep Shah, General Secretary of the Karnavati Division, highlighted Laghu Udyog Bharati’s role in empowering small businesses and acting as a vital link between the government and entrepreneurs. Presentations were made by GeM and the District Industries Centre during the program.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Chief Whip of the Legislative Assembly Balkrishna Shukla, Secretary of Laghu Udyog Bharati Akhil Bhartiya Sangathan Prakash Chandra Gupta, Gujarat State General Secretary Ishwar Sajjan, Karnavati Division President Ishwar Patel, District Vadodara Chairman Viral Chaudhary, Mayor Pinky Soni, MP Hemang Joshi, MLA Keyur Rokadiya, Manisha Vakil, and various entrepreneurs from Laghu Udyog Bharati.
