New Delhi [India], June 25: Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud announced the commencement of a special Lok Adalat from July 29 to August 3. He urged citizens, lawyers, and advocates to take advantage of this opportunity to resolve cases quickly and amicably.

What is Lok Adalat?

Lok Adalat is an alternative dispute resolution mechanism where disputes pending in court or at the pre-litigation stage are settled amicably. It has statutory status under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and its decisions are final and binding.
