New Delhi, August 16: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has announced the dates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir. Haryana will have its elections in a single phase on October 1, while Jammu & Kashmir will have three phases of polling from September 18 to October 1.
Election Schedule
In Jammu & Kashmir, voters will cast their votes on September 18, September 25, and October 1. The counting of votes for both states will take place on October 4.
Nomination Dates
The dates to file nominations for the first phase in Jammu & Kashmir are on August 27, for the second phase on September 5, and for the third phase on September 12. In Haryana, the last day to file nominations is September 12, with scrutiny on September 13 and the last date for withdrawal on September 16.

Jammu & Kashmir has 87.09 lakh total electors, including 44.46 lakh males, 42.62 lakh females, and 169 transgender individuals. Haryana has 2.01 crore voters, with 1.06 crore males and 0.95 crore females. Both states have a significant number of first-time voters.
