In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Minister Tank Ram Verma paid tribute to two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel who died in a Naxal attack. The minister personally carried their remains as a mark of respect. He stated that since the BJP government took charge, actions against Naxalites have intensified, reducing their numbers. The state aims to be free from Naxal influence.

The Inspector General of Police for the Bastar Range reported that two injured Narayanpur district police officials are recovering. The two ITBP personnel who died in the IED blast were identified as Pawar Amar Shamrao and K Rajesh.

Recent Naxal Encounters

During a joint operation on October 19, Naxals attacked an ITBP team, resulting in a major IED blast. Additionally, Dantewada police reported that 38 Naxal cadres were killed in a recent encounter near the Dantewada-Narayanpur border. Bodies of 31 cadres have been recovered and 29 handed over to families.
