Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 5: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited his old school in Bagiya village for the State-Level Shala Praveshotsav. He shared memories of his school days, highlighting the community’s efforts in maintaining the school. He noted the differences between then and now, such as the lack of proper flooring and roads during his time.

CM Sai emphasized the importance of education for development and announced several initiatives, including a new residential school for divyang students in Jashpur, upgrading schools in Bagiya and Bandarchua to model schools, and establishing a higher secondary school in Farsabahar. He called the day historic and urged people to recognize the transformative power of education.

He also highlighted India’s ancient educational heritage, mentioning Nalanda and Takshashila. The new education policy, he said, introduces bi-annual board exams and incorporates local languages into textbooks. The state operates 211 PM-SHRI schools and organizes summer camps to nurture student talent. Parent-Teacher Meetings will be held on August 6 to discuss students’ progress.

During the event, CM Sai invited Padma Shri awardee Jageshwar Yadav to the stage, praising his dedication to tribal communities. Sai encouraged people to learn from Yadav’s example. Kaushalya Sai, the Chief Minister’s wife, advised parents to focus on their children’s unique abilities. Finance Minister OP Choudhary and other officials also spoke, emphasizing the importance of education.

CM Sai distributed bicycles to high school girls and honored meritorious students and teachers. He planted a Rudraksha sapling in honor of his mother as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign, urging others to do the same to increase green cover. Several dignitaries, including MLA Arang Guru Khushwant Saheb and Jashpur Zila Panchayat President Shanti Bhagat, were present.
