Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma Meet Injured STF Jawans After Naxal Attack
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 18: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma met the four STF jawans who were injured in an encounter with Naxalites. The incident occurred in Bijapur district, where an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Naxals resulted in the deaths of two security personnel and injuries to four others.
CM Sai expressed his condolences over the deaths of Constable Bharat Sahu and Constable Satyer Singh Kange. He stated, “The Naxalites are perturbed by the campaign being run by our government to eliminate Maoism and are carrying out cowardly acts. The martyrdom of the soldiers will not go in vain. Our fight will continue till Maoism is eliminated.” He also wished for peace for the souls of the soldiers and a speedy recovery for the injured.
The security personnel were part of an anti-Naxal operation and were returning from a search operation when the blast occurred. Additional security forces have been deployed to the area, and necessary arrangements have been made for the treatment of the injured jawans.
In a separate significant anti-Naxal operation, security forces launched an offensive at Wandoli Village on the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border, resulting in the deaths of 12 Naxals and the recovery of a substantial cache of arms. The operation, led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operations), involved seven C60 parties and was based on credible intelligence. Among the recovered weapons were three AK-47 rifles, two INSAS rifles, one carbine, and one self-loading rifle (SLR). One police sub-inspector and one jawan sustained bullet injuries but are reported to be out of danger.
