The Indian Air Force organized a spectacular Air Show at Chennai Marina Airfield on October 6, ahead of the 92nd Air Force Day. The event featured the impressive Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft and Sarang helicopter, captivating a large audience including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Deputy CM Udhyanidhi Stalin, and Air Chief Marshal AP Singh.

This air show, held for the first time in 21 years in Chennai, also showcased the strength and operational readiness of the Garud Commandos at Marina Beach. A total of 72 aircraft participated, highlighting the theme ‘Bharatiya Vayusena: Saksham, Sashakt aur Aatmnirbhar’ (Indian Air Force: Capable, Strong, and Self-reliant), emphasizing the IAF’s dedication to national security and modernization.

The event attracted a diverse crowd, including many young children. One young visitor expressed excitement about attending the show for the first time, despite the hot weather. Parents shared their joy in bringing their children to witness the memorable event. Another visitor praised the show as one of the best they had seen.

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police issued advisories encouraging the use of Metro and MRTS services to ensure a smooth experience for attendees.
