Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary Criticizes BJP

In the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its MLAs, accusing them of focusing on self-interest rather than the welfare of the people. Choudhary stated, “We are the ones who want to strengthen Bharat Mata. These people (BJP) are the ones who don’t want to strengthen the country but only themselves.”

He emphasized that the National Conference is committed to the welfare of the poor, while the opposition is aligned with the wealthy. Former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Kavinder Gupta accused the National Conference of disrupting the assembly and labeled the speaker as an “agent of the National Conference.”

The assembly session witnessed a scuffle when Awami Ittehad Party MLA Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh raised a banner on the restoration of Article 370, leading to objections from BJP MLAs. The speaker ordered marshals to remove members who crossed their limits and urged opposition leaders to maintain decorum. The session is set to conclude on November 8.
