Chandrababu Naidu’s Vision for Amaravati

Rebuilding the Capital and Developing Andhra Pradesh

On Saturday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu relaunched efforts to rebuild Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. He announced plans to develop Visakhapatnam as the financial capital and establish a High Court bench and industries in Kurnool.

Naidu emphasized that Amaravati is a self-financing project, countering claims that it would require massive spending. He credited the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for gathering 34,241 acres of land from 29,881 farmers for the project.

Naidu thanked women who opposed the previous government, which he accused of wasting five years by claiming a lack of funds. He highlighted Amaravati’s potential for job creation and welfare schemes, noting that institutions like VIT, SRM, and Amruth Universities are already operating there.

Plans include a bullet train connecting Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Amaravati, with World Bank support. Naidu aims to interlink rivers and make Amaravati a beautiful city, despite a Rs 7,000 crore burden from past governance.

The central government has pledged Rs 15,000 crore in assistance, and residential towers for officials are underway. Naidu expressed confidence in the alliance of TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP to improve Andhra Pradesh’s future.
