Attempted Escape and Encounter

While being taken to recover weapons, Verma attempted to seize a police pistol and fired at officers. In self-defense, Inspector Sachchidanand Rai shot Verma in the leg, preventing his escape. Verma was then taken to a hospital for treatment.
