CBI Arrests Key Conspirator Aman Singh in NEET-UG Exam Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Aman Singh, the suspected key conspirator in the NEET-UG exam irregularities case. Singh was apprehended in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
Earlier, the CBI had arrested Dr. Ehsaan Ul Haq and Imtiaz Alam, the principal and vice principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. Haq was the city coordinator for the NEET-UG exam 2024.
In Bihar’s Patna, the CBI also arrested Manish Prakash and Ashutosh. Manish transported students to a school for exam preparation, while Ashutosh provided safe house premises for them.
Last month, the central government assigned the CBI to investigate the NEET-UG irregularities, leading to multiple FIRs related to paper leaks, impersonation, and cheating.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the NEET-UG exam, is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities, sparking protests and demands to disband the NTA.
The Supreme Court will hear pleas on July 8 regarding the alleged paper leak and irregularities. The court has asked the NTA to address the concerns and ensure the exam’s integrity.
On June 13, the Centre and NTA informed the Supreme Court that they had canceled grace marks for 1,563 candidates, offering them a re-test on June 23. A total of 813 students took the re-test across seven centers.
