The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four individuals in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case. Among those arrested are Dr. Ehsaan Ul Haq and Imtiaz Alam, the principal and vice principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. The CBI also arrested Manish Prakash and Ashutosh from Patna, Bihar.

Dr. Ehsaan Ul Haq was appointed as the city coordinator by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the NEET-UG 2024 exam. The CBI revealed that Ashutosh arranged safe houses for students, while Manish Prakash transported them to a school for exam preparation.

These arrests are the first made by the CBI in this case. The individuals were produced in court following their arrest. The CBI took over the NEET-UG paper leak case reported in Patna, Bihar, as well as other cheating cases in Godhra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the government’s commitment to a fair investigation and stringent punishment for those involved in the paper leaks. The NTA is facing criticism and protests across the country, with demands to disband the agency. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the NTA regarding alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam, with the next hearing scheduled for July 8.

The NEET-UG exam, conducted by the NTA, is crucial for admissions into medical and related courses in India.
