CBI Arrests Ayodhya Cantonment Board Officials for Bribery

In Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two individuals, including a Junior Engineer (JE) and another official from the cantonment board, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs10,000. The CBI registered a case against them after allegations surfaced that they demanded Rs15,000 for issuing a permission letter related to wood allotment. The wood, valued at Rs1,37,500, was auctioned by the Cantonment Board. The CBI set a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe. A monitored call also implicated the junior engineer, leading to his arrest. Both individuals will be presented in court, and the investigation continues with searches at various locations.
