CB Suresh Babu Becomes New JD(S) Leader in Karnataka Assembly
CB Suresh Babu, a senior JD(S) MLA from Chikkanayakana Halli, has been appointed as the leader of the party in the Karnataka legislative assembly. This follows HD Kumaraswamy’s election to the Lok Sabha, leading him to vacate his Assembly seat.
Additionally, SL Bhojegowda has been named the leader of the JD(S) legislative party in the Legislative Council. Bhojegowda, a two-time MLC and advocate, also serves as the vice-chairman of the Bar Council of India and comes from a political family.
Babu, a four-term MLA, won his seat in the 2023 elections, defeating BJP’s JC Madhuswamy. He began his political career in 1997 and has been elected to the Assembly multiple times since 1999.
