London [UK], July 12: Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz has advanced to the final match of Wimbledon 2024 after defeating Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-final clash at the centre court on Friday.

The Spanish tennis player lost the first set as Medvedev dominated, but Alcaraz bounced back to win the next three sets, securing his place in the final round of Wimbledon 2024.

In the final, Carlos Alcaraz will face either Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo Musetti, who will compete in the second semi-final later in the day.

In the quarterfinals, Alcaraz defeated Tommy Paul from the United States 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. Despite losing the first set, Alcaraz recovered to win the next three sets and advance to the semi-final against Medvedev.

Medvedev reached the semi-final by defeating Italy’s Janik Sinner, the current World No. 1, in a thrilling five-set quarterfinal match with scores of 6-7(7), 6-4, 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-3.
