Canadian MP Chandra Arya Stands Up Against Hate: Defends Hindu-Canadians

Ottawa [Canada], July 24: Canadian Member of Parliament Chandra Arya responded strongly to a video by separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who demanded that Arya and his Hindu-Canadian friends return to India. Arya emphasized that Canada is their home and highlighted the significant contributions of Hindu-Canadians to the country’s multicultural fabric.

In a post on X, Arya condemned the vandalism of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton and other acts of hate by Khalistan supporters. He stated, “We Hindus have come to our wonderful country, Canada, from all parts of the world. We have made and continue to make an immense positive and productive contribution to the socio-economic development of Canada.”

Arya also pointed out the troubling trend of targeted attacks on Hindu places of worship, noting that the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton was vandalized again this week. He expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of hate-fueled violence against Hindu-Canadian communities.

He called for Canadian law enforcement agencies to take proactive measures to address these threats and ensure the safety and security of all religious communities in Canada. The incidents have sparked discussions on enhancing security measures around Hindu temples and combating extremist propaganda.
