C Ramachandraiah and P Hari Prasad Elected as MLCs in Andhra Pradesh
Two leaders from Andhra Pradesh, C Ramachandraiah of the Telugu Desam Party and P Hari Prasad of the JanaSena Party, were unanimously elected as MLCs under the MLA quota. The announcement was made by Returning Officer Y Vijayaraju in the assembly building.
As the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended, only C Ramachandraiah and P Hari Prasad had filed nominations, leading to their unanimous election. Deputy Secretary Vanitha Rani also participated in the program.
Chief Minister’s Meetings in New Delhi
On Thursday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met with six Union Ministers in New Delhi to discuss various issues. He met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to request funds for a Greyhounds Training Centre and operational costs, and to schedule an early review of the AP police IPS cadre.
Naidu also met with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to discuss the Outer Ring Road project and other infrastructure developments. He requested Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to prioritize the transfer of Government of India Salt Lands for industrial development.
Additionally, Naidu met with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to request the sanction of an integrated aquapark and increased subsidies for horticulture farmers. He also discussed promoting Vizag-Kakinada as a Green Hydrogen manufacturing hub with Minister of Power Manohar Lal Khattar.
Finally, Naidu requested Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum, to set up a BPCL refinery in the state. He also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek support for the state’s development.
