Bus from Uttar Pradesh Falls into Marsyangdi River in Nepal

A passenger bus with a Uttar Pradesh number plate and at least 40 people onboard fell into the Marsyangdi river in Nepal’s Tanahun district. The bus, bearing number plate UP FT 7623, was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when it plunged into the river and is now lying on the riverbank.

DSP Deepkumar Raya from the District Police Office Tanahun confirmed the incident. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner stated that they are trying to find out if any passengers from Uttar Pradesh were on the bus.

In a similar incident in July, 65 people on two buses were swept into the swollen Trishuli river in Nepal amid heavy rain. The buses involved were the Kathmandu-bound Angel bus and the Ganpati Deluxe, which was headed from Kathmandu to Rautahat’s Gaur.
