Building Collapse in Lucknow: 28 Rescued, 4 Dead, Rescue Operations Ongoing

A building collapsed in Lucknow’s Transport Nagar area on Saturday, leading to the rescue of 28 people and the unfortunate death of 4 individuals. The rescued people have been sent to hospitals for treatment.

Officials Respond

District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar visited the hospital to ensure proper treatment for the injured. He stated, “Monitoring is being done at the top level to ensure that the injured get proper treatment. We will ensure that they receive proper treatment.”

Union Defence Minister and Lok Sabha MP from Lucknow, Rajnath Singh, expressed his sadness over the incident. He posted on X, “The news of the collapse of a building in Lucknow is extremely painful. I have spoken to the District Magistrate of Lucknow over the phone and got information about the situation at the spot. The local administration is carrying out relief and rescue operations on the spot and is engaged in helping the victims in every possible way.”

Chief Minister’s Actions

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took immediate action by instructing officials to hasten the relief efforts and ensure the injured are promptly transported to hospitals. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. The Chief Minister’s Office stated, “UP CM Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident of collapse of building in Transport Nagar, Lucknow. The Chief Minister has instructed the district administration officials, SDRF and NDRF teams to reach the spot and expedite the relief work and immediately take the injured to the hospital for proper treatment. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

Ongoing Rescue Operations

ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash mentioned that CM Yogi is continuously reviewing the situation and coordinating rescue operations among various departments. “The CM took immediate cognizance and sent the senior officials to the spot so that the rescue operations could be carried out in coordination between all departments and more lives can be saved. NDRF, SDRF, fire services, medical services, electricity department, Municipal council and all the other departments are carrying out the rescue operations… The CM is continuously reviewing the situation, and the relief and rescue operations,” he said.

Rescue operations are ongoing with the Fire Department, SDRF, and NDRF teams at the site. Municipal Commissioner Lucknow Indrajit Singh confirmed, “NDRF, SDRF, fire brigade, and police are carrying out rescue operations at the spot.”
