Building Collapse in Bengaluru: Tragedy Strikes Amid Heavy Rain

In the Horamavu Agara area of eastern Bengaluru, an under-construction building collapsed during heavy rain, leading to a tragic incident. Five people lost their lives, and five others were injured. The deceased have been identified as Harman (26), Tripal (35), Mohd Sahil (19), Sathya Raju (25), and Shankar. The injured include Jagadevi (45), Rasheed (28), Nagaraju (25), Ramesh Kumar (28), Harman (22), and Ayaj.

Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on site. A total of 13 individuals have been rescued so far, but several others are feared trapped under the debris. Vakeel Pasawn, a laborer who escaped the collapse, recounted his experience, stating that he was working on the sixth floor when the building gave way.

Director General of Fire Services, Prashant Kumar Thakur, mentioned that professional concrete cutters are awaited to aid in the rescue efforts. The police and fire services were alerted shortly after the collapse, and immediate action was taken to deploy rescue teams.

Authorities are working tirelessly to locate and rescue any remaining individuals trapped under the rubble. The incident has highlighted the urgent need for safety measures in construction sites, especially during adverse weather conditions.
