Building Collapse in Bengaluru: DK Shivakumar Vows Action
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar visited the site of a building collapse in the Horamavu Agara area of Bengaluru. He noted illegal construction activities and promised strict action against the owner and others involved. A 26-year-old man named Arman lost his life in the incident.
According to Shivakumar, 21 laborers were present at the site, with 14 rescued and five still missing. Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) working to find those trapped under the debris.
Director General of Fire Services Prashant Kumar Thakur reported that five people are currently trapped, and professional concrete cutters are awaited to aid in debris removal. The police and fire services were alerted in the afternoon, and efforts continue to rescue the trapped individuals.
