A tragic incident occurred in the Horamavu Agara area of eastern Bengaluru, where a seven-story building under construction collapsed on Tuesday. One person has been confirmed dead, and several others are feared trapped under the debris.

Rescue Efforts

Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with dog squads, are actively working at the site. The Director General of Fire Services, Prashant Kumar Thakur, reported that five individuals are currently trapped, and professional concrete cutters are awaited to aid in the rescue.

Details of the Incident

The collapse was reported to the police at 4 PM and to the fire department at 5 PM. Fire tenders and personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene. According to D Devaraja, DCP (East) Bengaluru, 20 people were inside the building at the time of the collapse. While 14 have been rescued, five remain missing.

Efforts continue to locate and rescue the missing individuals, with the assessment of casualties to be conducted post-rescue operations. The incident reportedly occurred around 1 PM, as per local sources.
