BSF Stops Illegal Entry of Bangladeshi Nationals in Murshidabad
In Murshidabad, West Bengal, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully stopped an illegal entry attempt from Bangladesh. Four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for crossing the border with fake Aadhaar cards. An Indian helper who assisted them was also caught.
Details of the Incident
On October 15, 2024, at around 3:35 PM, BSF personnel at the Bamanabad Border Outpost noticed suspicious activity. Five people were trying to cross from Bangladesh into India. The BSF quickly responded, causing the group to scatter and hide in tall grass. All five were soon captured.
Interrogation and Findings
Upon questioning, it was found that one of the five was an Indian smuggler. He admitted to helping the Bangladeshis cross the border for a fee. The four Bangladeshi nationals had fake Aadhaar cards, obtained from a tout in Bangladesh for 1000 Bangladeshi Taka each. They planned to go to Chennai for work.
The arrested individuals have been handed over to the Raninagar Police Station for further legal action.
