The Border Security Forces (BSF) in Meghalaya successfully stopped a cattle smuggling attempt at the international border. They rescued 69 cattle and arrested six Indian nationals involved in the smuggling.

Details of the Operation

The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Meghalaya police near the village of Dalu in West Garo Hills. The BSF troops from the 100th Battalion rescued the cattle, which were loaded in four pickup vehicles and intended to be smuggled to Bangladesh.

The apprehended individuals and the seized cattle were handed over to the police station at Dalu for further legal action.

Earlier Operation in North Tripura

Earlier in the month, the BSF thwarted another cattle smuggling operation near the Malakar Basti BOP in the Dharmanagar subdivision of North Tripura district. During this operation, ten cattle were seized, and two individuals were apprehended. A vehicle was also confiscated.
