BSF Seizes 10,000 Yaba Tablets Worth Rs 50 Lakh in Tripura’s Sepahijala District
The Border Security Force (BSF) seized 10,000 yaba tablets worth Rs 50 lakh in Tripura’s Sepahijala district. A special operation was launched in Srimantapur, Sonamura, leading to the apprehension of an Indian smuggler and the seizure of an electric autorickshaw.
The BSF handed over the suspect and the seized items to the police for further investigation. The BSF stated that their troops are on high alert at the border to prevent transborder crimes.
Earlier, BSF troops foiled a major smuggling attempt by Bangladeshi smugglers in Boxanagar. The BSF used non-lethal weapons in self-defense when the smugglers tried to attack the troops and smuggle goods forcefully. The smugglers fled, leaving behind large quantities of sugar. Two Bangladeshi smugglers were injured and are being treated in a hospital in Bangladesh.
