BSF Recovers Drones and Heroin in Amritsar Border Operation
The Border Security Force (BSF) in Amritsar, Punjab, successfully intercepted two drones and a packet of suspected heroin in a recent operation. Acting on intelligence, BSF troops thwarted a smuggling attempt across the border.
Details of the Recovery
On the night of October 31, at around 11:15 pm, BSF troops found a packet of suspected heroin weighing 570 grams in a harvested paddy field near Pulmoran village. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow tape with a steel ring and an illuminating strip attached.
Drone Recoveries
The first drone, a DJI Mavic 3 Classic, was recovered at 12:30 am from a field near Pulmoran village. The second drone, also a DJI Mavic 3 Classic, was found at 8:45 am in a field near Dhanoe Kalan village.
Previous Incidents
On October 29, BSF troops captured three narco-smugglers with heroin and smartphones near the Amritsar border. The smugglers, residents of border villages, were handed over to the police for further investigation.
On October 28, BSF recovered another drone and 480 grams of heroin from a field near Roranwala Khurd village. The narcotics were hidden in a plastic bottle with similar packaging.
