BSF Recovers China-Made Drones in Punjab
Amritsar and Tarn Taran Districts
The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully recovered three China-made drones in Punjab on October 24. These drones were found in the Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts, as per a BSF press release.
Details of the Recovery
Acting on intelligence, BSF troops, along with Punjab police, recovered a broken drone from a farming field near Bacchiwind village in Amritsar at 9:50 am. Another drone was found near Rattan Khurd village in Amritsar at 1:45 pm. The third drone was recovered from a field near Khalra village in Tarn Taran at the same time.
All drones were identified as DJI Mavic 3 Classic models, made in China. These recoveries demonstrate BSF’s dedication to stopping illegal drone activities from across the border, particularly those linked to cross-border narcotics operations.
Police Encounter in Amritsar
Earlier that day, two individuals were arrested after a shootout with Punjab police in the Diamond Avenue area of Amritsar. Gunfire was exchanged, resulting in one injury. The police recovered two pistols, including a sophisticated Glock 9mm. Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar indicated this was likely due to inter-gang rivalry and mentioned efforts to apprehend two more suspects.
