BSF Meghalaya Stops Smuggling Activities Near International Border

Bangladeshi Smuggler Apprehended

In the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, the Border Security Force (BSF) caught a Bangladeshi smuggler involved in sugar smuggling. On October 15, the 4th Battalion BSF noticed suspicious activities near the border. Muhammad Hussain Ahmad from Sylhet District, Bangladesh, was caught with sugar bags, while others escaped. The captured smuggler and sugar were handed to Pynursla Police Station.

Cattle Smuggling Thwarted

On October 13, BSF Meghalaya stopped cattle smuggling attempts. They rescued 27 cattle, including oxen and buffaloes, from being smuggled into Bangladesh. The vigilant troops acted on specific information and conducted operations near the border, seizing cattle hidden in the jungle. The cattle were handed over to the police for further action.
