BSF Finds Suspected Heroin in Gurdaspur and Amritsar

The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a narcotic substance suspected to be heroin from farming fields in Gurdaspur and Amritsar, Punjab.

Gurdaspur Recovery

On July 6, 2024, based on information from the BSF intelligence wing, BSF troops launched a search operation in Gurdaspur. At around 10:30 am, they found a packet weighing 480 grams of suspected heroin in a farming field in the village of Wazirpur Afgana. The packet was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.

Amritsar Recovery

Earlier, on July 4, 2024, the BSF and Punjab Police recovered around 550 grams of suspected heroin from the Amritsar border area. The search operation, based on intelligence, took place in the evening. The packet, also wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, was found near the village of Roranwala Khurd.

The BSF’s swift actions thwarted attempts by cross-border narco-smugglers to smuggle narcotics into Punjab.
