BSF Chief Daljit Singh Chawdhary Reviews Security at Jammu Border

Director General of Border Security Force Daljit Singh Chawdhary has reviewed the security situation along the Jammu International Border (IB). The BSF chief visited Border Outposts and observed the operational preparedness of field formations in the Samba-Kathua and Sunderbani sectors during his two-day visit to the Jammu frontier, which began on August 21.

Chawdhary, a 1990-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer who recently took on additional responsibilities with the BSF, interacted with the BSF Sector commander and Battalion commanders to discuss border management. He was briefed on critical aspects of border security and the current security scenario along the IB in Jammu.

On Thursday, the DG addressed a ‘Sainik Sammelan’ at the frontier headquarters, commending the troops for their dedication to border duties and urging them to maintain effective border control to prevent anti-national activities.

After assuming additional charge of the BSF, Chawdhary made a significant visit to the India-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas district and the Sunderbans area of West Bengal. The purpose of this visit was to review the operational preparedness and strategic deployment of BSF in the border areas, considering the changed situation in the neighboring country.

The visit to the Jammu frontier by DG BSF underscores the dedication and vigilance of the BSF in safeguarding India’s borders and ensuring peace and security in the region.
