BSF and Tripura Police Destroy Illegal Cannabis Cultivation in Sepahijela
In a significant operation, the Border Security Force (BSF), along with Tripura Police and forest officials, eradicated around 65,000 cannabis plants. These plants were illegally grown over 10 hectares in the village of Gilamura, Sepahijela district, Tripura. The operation involved cutting, uprooting, and burning the plants to ensure a drug-free environment.
Earlier, on November 3, the BSF apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals in Tripura. Four were caught trying to cross into India at the Kamla Sagar Border Out Post in Sepahijela, while another was apprehended at the Samrupara Border Out Post in Unakoti. These individuals were from various districts in Bangladesh, including Gopalganj, Kasba, and Netrakona.
The BSF continues to work diligently with other agencies to combat illegal activities and maintain security along the border.
