The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police have successfully recovered 550 grams of heroin from the Amritsar border area. The operation took place on July 4, 2024, following intelligence from the BSF.

Details of the Operation

On the evening of July 4, 2024, BSF intelligence reported the presence of a narcotics packet in the border area of Amritsar district. Acting swiftly, BSF troops and Punjab Police conducted a thorough search in the suspected area.

At around 9:25 pm, the search team found a packet of suspected heroin weighing 550 grams near Roranwala Khurd village. The packet was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and had a metal ring and an illuminating strip attached.

Previous Seizures

Amritsar has a history of illegal smuggling activities. On July 3, 2024, the BSF seized two pistols, four magazines, and 40 rounds of ammunition from a drone in Nissoke village. The drone, identified as a China-made DJI Matrice 300 RTK, had markings indicating the ammunition was made in Pakistan.
