In Amritsar, Punjab, the Border Security Force (BSF) and state police arrested a person for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs near the border. The BSF seized 530 grams of suspected heroin and a broken mobile phone from the accused. The operation was based on intelligence from the BSF, leading to a joint ambush with Punjab Police.

The suspect, from Kaholi village, was caught around 2:10 PM and is being interrogated for possible connections with Pakistan-based smugglers. This arrest highlights the dedication of BSF and Punjab Police in securing the border and combating smuggling.

Earlier, on October 17, a joint operation in Gurdaspur district led to the recovery of another packet of suspected heroin, an Oppo smartphone, and a Hero Splendor motorcycle. The smugglers and heroin were handed over to Gurdaspur police for further investigation.
