Ravi Gandhi, the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Eastern Command of the Border Security Force (BSF), visited the Meghalaya Frontier from October 20 to 21, 2024. His visit focused on reviewing the security situation and discussing border management strategies.

Meetings with Key Officials

On October 21, Ravi Gandhi met with Meghalaya’s Chief Secretary, Shri Donald Phillips Wahlang, and DGP, Smt. Nongrang, to discuss border-related issues. The discussions aimed to enhance collaboration between the BSF and local administration for effective border security.

Community Engagement

During his visit, Ravi Gandhi interacted with locals in the South West Garo Hills district, emphasizing the BSF’s commitment to border safety. He was welcomed by Inspector General Harbax Singh Dhillon and other senior officers.

Security Measures

In response to the unrest in Bangladesh, the BSF Meghalaya Frontier has increased security along the 444 km border with Bangladesh to prevent illegal activities. Extensive operations are in place to ensure border safety.
