BSF ADG Ravi Gandhi Visits Tripura, Meets Chief Minister Manik Saha
BSF Eastern Command Additional Director General (ADG) Ravi Gandhi arrived at the Frontier headquarters in Tripura for a two-day visit from July 12 to 13. During his visit, he reviewed the current security scenario and discussed various operational aspects of border management, including steps to prevent illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals.
ADG Gandhi was welcomed by Inspector-General (IG) BSF Tripura, Patel Piyush Purusottam Das, and other senior officers, followed by a guard of honour. IG BSF Tripura briefed the ADG about the general security scenario along the Indo-Bangladesh border and the challenges faced by troops on the ground. They also discussed measures to counter the challenge of illegal migrants.
ADG Gandhi had a courtesy meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, and Tripura Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan. During the high-level meeting, they discussed the prevailing security scenario and various measures being taken by BSF, especially tech solutions for border domination and actions to counter illegal migration.
ADG Gandhi also had a detailed interaction with officers to discuss ground-level issues. Along with IG Tripura Frontier, he will visit border areas to assess the situation and meet field commanders.
Earlier, on Thursday, the Government Railway Police (GRP) detained seven Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala Railway Station. The group, consisting of four women and three men, had reportedly entered India illegally and were planning to travel to various destinations across the country by train.
