Brazil’s Ambassador to India, Kenneth Felix Haczynski da Nobrega, highlighted the strong partnership between India and Brazil. He praised India’s G20 presidency for its achievements, including the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member. He emphasized the cooperation between the two nations in international forums like the UN and WTO.

Brazil’s G20 Presidency

Currently, Brazil holds the G20 Presidency, following India’s successful term. The G20 Leaders’ Summit will be held in Rio de Janeiro on November 18-19. The ambassador noted that Brazil’s presidency builds on India’s achievements, focusing on developing countries’ interests and creating new financial mechanisms for global needs.

Growing India-Brazil Relations

For over 70 years, India and Brazil have been close partners. The ambassador mentioned promising areas of cooperation, including agriculture, energy, and defense. He also discussed ongoing talks about increasing oil imports from Brazil to India.

Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will not attend the BRICS Summit in Kazan due to medical advice. He will participate via videoconference.
