Brave Officer Bashir Ahmed Killed in Encounter with Terrorists in Kathua, Jammu-Kashmir
A brave police officer from Jammu-Kashmir, Head Constable Bashir Ahmed, was killed during an encounter with terrorists in the remote village of Kog in Kathua district. The incident occurred on Sunday when Bashir Ahmed heroically gunned down a terrorist but received fatal wounds in the exchange of fire.
Two other officers, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Sukhbir and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Niaz Ahmed, were also injured during the encounter. They were airlifted for treatment and are currently receiving medical care.
The police are continuing their search operation for other terrorists in the area. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain mentioned that they had received information about the presence of three to four terrorists in the area, which led to the operation. He also assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and security of the upcoming third phase of assembly polls in the Union Territory.
ADGP Jain emphasized that the police are working diligently to prevent any terror attacks or violence during the elections. The search operation is ongoing, and the police are determined to maintain peace and security in the region.
