Brave CRPF Inspector Kuldeep Singh Loses Life in Udhampur Encounter

In Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, a brave Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Inspector named Kuldeep Singh lost his life during an encounter with terrorists on August 19. The joint patrol party of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police came under heavy fire in the Cheel, Dudu area.

Police officials confirmed, ‘CRPF Inspector Kuldeep Singh lost his life in the operation.’ Following the incident, security has been tightened in the area.

CRPF posted on X, ‘On 19 August, in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, brave Inspector Kuldeep Kumar of 187 Battalion CRPF sacrificed his life on the altar of duty while fighting the terrorists. CRPF salutes our brave soldier’s indomitable courage, valour and devotion to the motherland. We always stand with the family of our brave man.’

This incident occurred as Jammu and Kashmir is set to hold elections after a gap of 10 years. The elections will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with the counting of votes on October 4. The region has 90 assembly constituencies, including general, ST, and SC seats.

Earlier, on August 14, security forces killed a terrorist in Doda district. ‘One terrorist has been neutralised in the ongoing operation. One AK 47 has been recovered in addition to the M4 rifle. Intermittent exchange of firing continues as the operations are ongoing,’ stated White Knight Corps. Additional Director General of Police Anand Jain visited Doda as the Indian Army and J-K Police continued their search operation. An Indian Army captain also lost his life during this encounter.
