Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a ‘Maharatna’ and a Fortune Global 500 Company, has announced its partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as the official principal partner for four years, starting from the Paris Olympics 2024 through the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.

The official ceremonial and playing kits for the Indian contingent at the Paris Olympics 2024 were launched in New Delhi during a ceremonial send-off ceremony organized by the IOA. As part of this collaboration, BPCL will launch campaigns to support and uplift the Indian contingent heading to Paris.

G Krishnakumar, Chairman and MD of BPCL, expressed their aim to provide confidence to sportspersons. He mentioned that BPCL has supported over 200 sportspersons across various disciplines over the years.

Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha thanked BPCL for the partnership, highlighting their shared commitment to nurturing sporting talent. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Hardeep Singh Puri, along with PT Usha, unveiled the kits of the Indian team.

Mandaviya emphasized the hard work and dedication of the athletes, expressing confidence in their ability to sustain India’s growth in sports. He noted the government’s support through various schemes, such as the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS).

Puri expressed pride in supporting India’s Olympic sport and mentioned that many public sector corporations employ sportspersons, including Paris-bound Olympians.

Usha, drawing on her experience as an athlete, assured that India’s athletes would have ample sports science support in Paris 2024. She mentioned the assembly of a strong team under Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala’s leadership, including sports medicine experts, wellness specialists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and a sleep scientist.

The design of Team India’s playing kit showcases the confidence and versatility of India’s terrains. The fabric provides maximum comfort, with features like anti-static, stretch, air vent, moisture-wicking, and anti-microbial properties.

India will be sending a contingent of close to 120 athletes to the Olympics, including an Athletics team led by defending champion Neeraj Chopra, a 21-member Shooting team, and a 16-member men’s Hockey team.
