The Bombay High Court has taken notice of the alleged sexual assault of two fourth-grade girls at a school in Badlapur, Maharashtra. The case will be heard by Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice Prithviraj Chavan.

On August 17, police arrested a school attendant for allegedly abusing the girls, causing widespread outrage in Badlapur. Protests erupted, leading to police intervention and arrests.

The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) has proposed creating special units for women and children in every police station. Chairperson Susieben Shah highlighted the need for dedicated personnel to handle such cases efficiently.

Earlier, police used lathi-charge to disperse protestors at Badlapur railway station, where demonstrators had blocked the tracks, disrupting train services. The situation has since returned to normal.
