Bomb Threats in Gurugram and Mumbai: Evacuations and Security Drills

On August 17, visitors and staff were evacuated from malls in Gurugram after the district administration received a bomb threat via email. Police, dog squads, and civil defense teams conducted searches starting around 10 am, according to Mohit Sharma, Chief of the Civil Defense Team in Gurugram.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police conducted a security mock drill at the DLF Mall of India in Noida. DCP Noida Ram Badan Singh stated, “A security mock drill was conducted in DLF mall. These kinds of drills are conducted to ensure that no one is in danger. Fire services, dog squads, and police teams participated in the drill.”

Earlier, on August 9, an unidentified man called the Government Railway Police control room, claiming that RDX had been planted at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). Police conducted searches at all CSMT stations but found nothing. The caller’s location was traced to Mumbai and Bihar before the phone was switched off.
