Blast in Quetta Injures 12, Including Policeman

A blast targeted a police van near Eastern Bypass in Quetta, injuring 12 people, including a policeman, according to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind. The injured were initially treated at Civil Hospital and later transferred to Quetta Trauma Centre for further care.

Earlier this month, two policemen were killed and another injured in a bomb blast in Kuchlak town, Quetta. Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist activities, with 59 attacks in August compared to 38 in July, according to the Pak Institute for Peace Studies.

In late August, militants from the banned Balochistan Liberation Army launched multiple attacks across Balochistan, killing at least 50 people, including 14 security personnel. In response, security forces killed 21 militants. Among the victims were 23 laborers from Punjab who were shot after an identity check in Musakhail.

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, pledged to continue the fight against terrorism, stating, “To fight for the cause of Pakistan, the security forces, along with the law enforcement agencies, and the brave people of Pakistan — especially the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan — have made unprecedented sacrifices.”
